The Human Development

Counselling Centre

The Human Development Counselling Centre is a private counselling centre and was first established in 1988 in Kelowna B.C. by Catherine O’Connell. In 2004 she moved her practice to Sudbury and has developed a counselling centre which is unique in the services it provides. The Human Development Counselling Centre operates as an umbrella. All professionals who work within the centre, if required, will be available to clients from the centre. Within the centre we deal with alcohol and drug addiction, anger management issues, marriage, family and individual counselling, youth, victims of violence, sexual abuse, pornography, and all other addictive behaviours which include sexual deviance, pedophilia, and eating disorders. Clinical groups and 12 step groups are all part of the services provided within the centre.

As of December 2006 the Human Development Counselling Centre has acquired eight offices, a group room, and a conference facility all located at 311 Elm St. It is our intention to bring other professionals in, to establish the diversity that we believe is needed to better help the people we meet. As part of this initiative we have teamed up with Humanity's team Canada. http://www.humanitysteamcanada.com/htc/index.html
